DWIGHT JENKINS : THIS BEAUTIFUL INDIAN GIRL EMBODIES A SOUL “A
CONVERSATIONAL POEM”
Dwight Jenkins is a former Criminal and Immigration lawyer who was born in
Montreal and presently lives in Ajax, Ontario.
Dwight aspires to write spiritual, cultural and political poetry, elegies, odes and
devotionals. Dwight practices different aspects of both the Hindu and Catholic
religion. Dwight enjoys participating in open mic performances which at times
include dance and song.
Dwight previously co-produced a program on education for a prime time news
program and has been published in a high caliber newspaper for his article
addressing issues that the Black community was facing in Montreal at the time.
The poem entitled: “This Beautiful Indian Girl Embodies A Soul” addresses the
Hindus’ approach on subjects such as vegetarianism, chastity, abortion and
religious festivals.

JULIAN MATTHEWS : THE MESSENGER
Julian Matthews is a mixed-race minority poet and writer from Malaysia,
published in The American Journal of Poetry, Beltway Poetry Quarterly,
Lothlorien Poetry Journal, Live Encounters and New Verse News, among other
journals and anthologies. He stumbled upon a creative writing workshop by
accident seven years ago. That happy accident has turned into a rabid
compulsion. He is still extricating himself from the crash.

DILSHI SAMARAKOON : SILENT AGONY AMIDST THE NOISE
Dilshi Samarakoon, a proud Sri Lankan, is an undergraduate at the University
of Peradeniya, where she delves into the realms of English, Sociology,
Psychology, and French. A passionate and creative spirit, Dilshi finds her muse
in the delicate dance of butterflies and the vivid hues of rainbows, shaping her
stories with a palette of joy and wonder. While her heart leans more toward the
art of short storytelling, she occasionally weaves her thoughts into poetry. Each
piece she writes is a testament to her inner peace and enthusiasm, as she
transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary through her vibrant and
uplifting narratives.
